Monosodium Phosphate 26% is a highly bioavailable, Calcium-free Phosphorus supplement for horses being fed poor-quality hay or pasture to maintain normal cellular function and healthy bones. Also plays critical roles in metabolism and enzyme regulation.
Feed at the rate of 1 scoop daily or as directed by your veterinarian or nutritionist. One scoop = 24 grams (included). Each scoop contains 6 grams of elemental phosphorous.
Phosphorous is an important structural mineral found in bone. It is involved in the production of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP), both of which are major energy units for the horse’s cells.
Phosphorous also plays a major role in cell membranes as an important part of phospholipids, which make up the membranes. Phosphorus also helps form the backbone of DNA and contributes to the pH and electrolyte balance in body fluids.
Hay and pasture analysis commonly show Phosphorous for horses at low levels in their diets and at imbalanced levels with Calcium.
An average size adult horse at maintenance requires a minimum of 14 grams per day of Phosphorus. Growing, pregnant and lactating horses have much higher requirements, often not covered by the hay or grass eaten. A horse in moderate to heavy work will also have a higher requirement.
Guaranteed Analysis per 24 grams (1 scoop):
